Ieri sera si è tenuta a Los Angeles la cerimonia dei Creative Arts degli Emmy Awards 2011, la serata dedicata ai premi tecnici assegnati alla serialità e ai programmi americani, che precede di sette giorni la prestigiosa celebrazione dei Primetime Emmy Awards: a dominare le categorie tecniche è Boardwalk Empire che si aggiudica 7 riconoscimenti, tre in più di Mildred Pierce (che si porta a casa quattro statuetta), quattro in più di The Kennedys (fermo a quota tre). La HBO fa incetta di premi, 15, e batte PBS (10), Fox (9), CBS (7), NBC (5), Discovery Channel e History (4), ABC, Cartoon Network e Reelz (3). AMC, Comedy Central, Disney Channel e Showtime (2).
