AMC ordina la serie TV The West, la notizia è arrivata durante il Television Critics’ Association Press Tour. The West è prodotta dalla vincitrice dell’Emmy Stephen David Entertainment.
AMC ha ordinato otto episodi di un’ora che debutteranno nell’estate 2016 subito dopo le sette puntate finali del western Hell on Wheels. La produzione di The West inizierà ad agosto.
Grazie alle scene drammatiche realizzate dalla Stephen David Entertainment, The West traghetterà i telespettatori in un mondo violento fatto di cowboy, indiani, senza legge e uomini di legge e racconterà le vite delle leggende del western quali Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, Cavallo Pazzo e Toro Seduto. Incentrata dal 1865 al 1890, la serie TV evento mostrerà le conseguenze della Guerra Civile, le opportunità offerte da una terra che si sarebbe trasformata nei futuri Stati Uniti d’America.
The West potrà contare anche sulle interviste di grandi nomi di star dei film western: James Caan, Tom Selleck, Kiefer Sutherland, Ed Harris e altri. The West ha come produttori esecutivi Stephen David, Robert Redford e Laura Michalchyshyn with Sundance Productions.
